So, I fired up Firefox, installed NoScript, and then loaded the site again so that I could see the HTML (to find the scripts).
NoScript works on Vivaldi ;)
I'm actually surprised we're still able to use youtube without logging into it, as blocking the nags to log in are never ending.
I have Youtube Premium so I don't get ads on my SmartTV when watching Youtube and I support several Youtube creators, so don't care too much about that.

I switched to Vivaldi several years go, then switched back to Firefox and then back to Chromium and a few months back I switched back to Vivaldi. After having gotten used to Chromium-based web-browsers I can't just go back to Firefox anymore and Mozilla seems to really not care about their original user-base anymore from back in the day and more focused on Ads just like Brave.

I know. It works on most browsers, as far as I know. I didn't want to add the extension to this browser, and Firefox was already open. That's how it ended up being installed in Firefox. I do have Vivaldi installed. I just never use it -- except on my phone.

My Dad bought this huge TV. It's a flat screen probably just before smart TV's came out and got popular. It weighs a ton!!! I moved it quite a few times, and wow!! what a pain. It's a beast, Anyway, he was so smart in researching and buying it. Even though it's not a smart TV it has so many usb ports, and a few hdmi ports and even a optical port. All the ports come in handy for huge speakers, as the internal speaker fizzled out in it. It's even wifi compatible. I dread the day this thing doesn't work anymore and I have to actually get a smart TV. I set many up for friends, and there is so much junk built into them.

I don't pay for a thing except for having wifi. Using a little roku box at times plugged into a usb port is enough for me. I'm a documentary junky and would love Youtube without the ads, but I'm not going to pay for it, or create an account. There's ways around it, but I'm able to stream from my computer to the TV in various ways, so I don't have to deal with all the nags, commercials, and ads in the roku apps. I find a good documentary, download it, and poof it over to the TV or put it on a usb stick and plug it into the TV. Am a happy camper. Most of the time I just have music playing anyway. A full blown smart TV would be an overkill for me.

For now..

^^^^....for now !....Yes !....Google must have its own way. That is a fact of life.

I have read that same scenario, many, Many times !.....kudos to you for your work in finding your way around it.
I do a somewhat similar work around in finding books to read, and then sending them to my phone....I read them on my phone so that they follow me wherever I go. like you , i don't pay for a thing, excepting 'Net connection. That's another story. I will describe my procedure via Dm, not on the site.

guugle cannot be denied...or so they think. (not a typo) There is , however, a different 'animal' still alive and doing well that can and will figure stuff out, that does not always involve technology, but instead relies on a bit of grassroots common sense and nefariousness.

illegal? possibly. Is what guugle does legal m?...oh no !....that borders on political yak yak !..... musn't do that !...smack smack, Brian !!!

Thank you.. and you too! Kudos!

Work arounds. Goodness hehe!! So many I do... Legal? Hmm, I would like to think so LOL I'm certainly no criminal, but I do find ways to... Ummm ... Not go with the flow, or like I tend to think of it as... Not be herded like cattle. Google... Ugh, I can't even talk about that thing too much without getting sorta angry, but I have my ways around it. Linux helps. I'm such the little rebel at times! Broke every Gov. procedure rule in the book as an engineer and actually got away with it, retiring early with a pension no less. A miracle! Anyway I may cheat here and there, but we have to, to escape so much junk, is how I look at it.

I prefer to be like cats ...impossible to herd.

I too have little to no time for guugle despite their much publicised 'we are really nice people and intend no harm etc etc, spew, gag, vomit, etc

It would be nice to have sufficient income to be more able to ignore their inputs/transgressions etc etc....but I do not have that luxury.

It is a FACT that google likely sucks up the very 'data' I am typing right now. Thanks ever so much linux.org
The price we pay for having an outlet here. We need to disguise our selves, dob, place of living, etc etc in order to just exist without some interfering search engine involving themselves in our business.

I know there's ways around it but I was using Spotify before and made the switch to Youtube Music with Premium to have an all in one and I don't mind supporting Youtube creators I really enjoy.

Another reason I just found out today I wouldn't want to be using Firefox anymore is because Mozilla found another reason to not be working on a web-browser only anymore besides investing efforts into ads.

Wow do I relate! Totally agree and my Cat who adopted me has no problem teaching her cat ways!!! I relate to her too! When she is perturbed all of her weapons pop out of their holsters and she is going to figure out a way to be happy! Even if it requires a few pokes or swipes!

I can see your reasoning. Usually when I listen to music though, it has nothing to do with a web connection. I download most of it and VLC to me was the best thing invented next to apple pie! haha

I have a few others, mostly CLI for playing music using various playlists. Some usb sticks full of music I can pop into my TV or truck when i'm on the go. A very simple little radio app for adding streams that Linux still supports, that is bare bones, but takes some searching on the net to find stations i like and then just copy and paste the stream urls. Called Goodvibes.

Firefox.. Ugh... One of many, or I should say all browsers maybe, slaves to the web! So much junk out there we all, or most, wanna bypass. Tons of cool stuff too though :)

I have rekindled my interest in Librewolf lately.

So far so good.

My prefered Firefox fork I use as default now. It just seems more refined helping me bypass junk. I still keep generic Firefox and Waterfox and Vivaldi, but their not used much for now. I tried Brave some time ago and just never liked it. Couldn't put my finger on why really. Dad used it a lot on his Ipad. I guess it just seemed too Appley to me. I dunno.
