I'll most likely be in the next life by the time it usable :)
but found it an interesting concept anyway.
will see.

Haiku-based, huh? Heh...

That one was in 'alpha' for at least a decade, and is still in 'beta', 15 years later. Interesting concept, though; I mess around with Haiku on a regular basis, and shall keep an eye on this one...

Nice find, Dave!

Mike. :D

It does sometimes surprise me that BeOS still has fans, but I guess that's true of all sorts of older software. Though I think a number of people tend to view the past with heavily-tinted rose-colored glasses.

As an aside:

Also, a very inebriated, much younger version of myself hemmed and hawed between two different tattoos. It was either a Vitruvian Man or a Grateful Dead tattoo. I went with the latter. I figure tattoos are fine for me, so long as they are covered when you're wearing 'business casual' clothing.

If you find anything there better than Linux, can you send us a message in a bottle, perhaps?

the heading of this article is misleading. i had to go read a bit of it. it was just as i thought.

VitruvianOS is not a Linux distribution in the usual sense. It uses the Linux kernel only for hardware support, while replacing the standard Linux userland and desktop stack with its own components. Its goal is to combine Linux compatibility with a BeOS-style architecture.

haiku are still trying to get out of 32-bit. nope.

linux compatibility, could this be done without a "layer" such as wine?

look out that it completely supports usb! because reactos had many problems with that one. the developers of redox os should have it squared away.

also with those windows. nice gui but ugly tab coming out of one window. maybe it's better than the huge window title bar. we have to deal with out of gnome!

where's snakeware? why did that stop being developed? i could have been an "expert" python programmer!

we got haiku os distro based before gta 6

but this distro based on linux kernel instead of haiku os who bassed on beOS
