Hello all. I assembled a new Linux Mint machine tonight and encountered something interesting. The single HDMI port on my NVIDIA 5060 Ti GPU is not working. While all three of the DisplayPorts (on the same card) are functioning as expected. But that was only after adjusting BIOS settings.
To better explain my situation, here is a quick summary of the computer's specifications,:
Ultimately, I followed the suggestions found in this Reddit post; from someone who experienced a similar situation. Which is how I was able to get the DisplayPorts working whatsoever. But the HDMI port still results in a black screen, where the connected monitor turns off from lack of a signal when plugged into.
To make matters even more interesting, prior to getting a signal from the GPU's DisplayPorts, the 5060 Ti's fans would spin at maximum RPM after attempting to boot into the LM installer. The GPU fans would continue to spin at max RPM until I manually shut the machine off.
Has anyone experienced something similar during the installation process? Where connecting a monitor to the HDMI port on a 5xxx series NVIDIA GPU causes all sorts of odd behaviors from the hardware during the Linux Mint installation process?
Thank you for your time and any information shared.
