Was having a look around the Distrowatch site this morning and noticed an OS i hadn't seen before.
Br OS 12.11 is a Brazillian OS that now uses a Debian base. I am tempted to give it a go and would
like to know if any other forum members have used it previously and what they thought about it.
Thanks all

I highly doubt anyone used it, but I'm skeptical toward newly born distros due to likely being underdeveloped.

Majority of countries world wide have their own distro, development of which in most cases started by governments, in some cases there are individuals who claim a "[insert country here] distro".

In both cases I'd be further skeptical.

Thanks for the info CaffeineAddict. Shall now start looking for a suitable distro to try out.

it's not a new distro, but one that has been reerected and had a name change, for the life of me I cannot recall what it was called before as so many distributions have come and gone, many only lasting 2-8 years, depending on your Linux skill levels then you may be better off sticking to better known distributions which will have more support.

And of course, much depends on the individual. Quite a number are happy to constantly 'distro-hop' - some do nothing else, and NEVER settle down. Most will try a few out, find one they like, and stick with it.

Anyone who's serious about what they do nearly always gravitates toward the long-established players, who generally have an equally well-established support infrastructure & mechanisms in place.

I am current running MX 23.5 Libretto on my Desktop, Ubuntu 24.04 on my Laptop, and Puppy Linux on a pendrive. I really do like 'distro-hopping' and i like to think that i learn a little each time. I've got a few spare pendrives doing nothing. So it's a distro-hopping i will go, lol.

Good for you, half the fun of Linux is trying something new/different on my main desktop i have Mint LMDE as main, mint22 on the back-up drive, then an assembly of SATA hard drives I connect with a satta-usb3 cable] for testing,[including Anduin, android x86, and Tuxedo] I have an assortment of about another a dozen distros there, My dell lappy runs mint LMDE at home backed up with Parrot home, and parrot home as the main distro when away from home for added security.

Wow! That lot must keep you busy throughout the day Brickwizard lol

throughout the day
No I play on days when the forums I am on are quiet unless i need to run one to answer questions, on pen drive I also have Gallium a special distro for older Chrome books
