Another update to the ole wallpaper...

(I've got to bone up on my Gimp skills!)

I had postponed updating my Gentoo Linux system for almost three months, today I finally decided to take the chance to update, but thankfully, a little bit of dependency hell aside, I have now fully updated my system, which now uses the newer KDE 6.3.5, and runs as smoothly as ever! :D

Also changed my wallpaper, window decoration, and turned the resource monitors on my top panel all into pie charts for consistency. :cool:

What.....no Stolas? Or Octavia? Not even in a corner (in the background)..? :P

This reminded me to rescue the wallpaper from my ASUS ROG Ally, I think you will like it! :cool:

@Zev :-

Yeah! I like that... :)

I was at a 'loose end' last night, so I did a wee bit of research into the background behind Helluva Boss (I hear a "Groan" coming...)

I know it's only a cartoon series, but given that Vivienne has 'located' BOTH Helluva Boss AND Hazbin Hotel in the 'netherworld', I get the impression she likes to get all the details right. Stolas' depiction as an owl-headed "Prince" of Hell - with long legs - along with the depiction of Stella's brother "Marquis" Andrealphus as having a peacock's head (S2 Ep4 - "Western Energy"), matches up perfectly with the Wikipedia article on the List of the seventy-two demons of Hell (the "fallen angels").

Look at the descriptions of "Prince" Stolas and "Marquis" Andrealphus.....and then look at 'em in Helluva Boss. See what I mean? :P Same with "King" Asmodeus (the owner of 'Ozzie's' nightclub). See how she's depicted the three heads.....the extra 'faces' alongside his main one?

Vivienne put a LOT of thought into this. 'Course, only a prat like me would notice...

Yeah, yeah; I know, I know. I DO waste my time on some daft s**t, don't I? :D

She did indeed go into an amazing amount of detail and I absolutely love it! :D It is one of my favorite shows of all time, and I admire her dedication and faithfulness to the source material, I like spooky and occult themes! :cool:

CachyOS (base arch) freshly installed .;)

Spiral Linux.
Not sure that I care for it but I'll give it a run.
Comes with to much unnecessary default software.

Never know till ya try, my friend. I understand where you're coming from, given your oft-stated preference for 'plain & simple'....

That looks like a fairly old "default" Mint wallpaper.....am I right?

CachyOS Xfce Installed bash as default shell. Using Gruvbox theme with Buuf icons.

Yes Mike, goes back probably closer to 15 years than 10.

@wizardfromoz :-

Heh. Yah, I thought so, Chris. I'm pretty sure I remember cat1092 over at BC saying it was the only wallpaper he ever used with Mint...

'Course, I could be wrong. My memory's getting somewhat 'flaky' these days!

I stumbled upon a veritable treasure trove of amazing art of the other Linux Mascot, Xenia, and I could not resist making a loosely Yaru / Ubuntu inspired desktop customization!
