Hello everyone!
I hope I'm in the right place for a question like this.
I got the idea to wipe a surplus Chromebook clean and install Linux Mint. This worked and the installation was flawless - until I tried to play audio.
I know my way around Linux to survive and use everyday, but this seems beyond what I already know. My Chromebook is an HP 14A G5 type. I've also noticed that I have issues booting up the GUI unless it's set to nomodeset. I had another computer I tried to put Linux on and same thing - I was met with the login screen, but after that, the screen went black with what looked like tiny scan lines and no usable desktop. At the current moment, I'm only running it in CLI mode.
I know that this has something to do with the GPU as I get warnings about missing firmware for amdgpu. Does anyone else have any experience with this problem?
Thank you in advance!
