A bootable Mint 21 usb stick that boots into my Mint 20.2 laptop, will not boot into my Win 10 machine. Any ideas?
Thank you and enjoy our Spring in N A.

G'day hapibelli, Welcome to Linux.org

Turn off secure boot and fast boot in bios

Thank you Condobloke. Secure boot is already off. I think that I got fast boot toggled off.

Well, I'm afraid that didn't do it. Is it possible that a usb stick made on my Mint 20.2 system, will not work unless it is made on a Win 10 system?

Welcome to the forums
what did you use to make the Linux iso installation drive? Rufus has not been working well with Linux for over a year, try Balena Etcher
if the usb is a cheap one or old, it may not function as a bootable medium
see my how do I install guide [link below]

I am attempting to use the usb stick on my Windows 10 Lenovo Thinkpad T440S. As I said, it is recognized and booted on a Mint 20.2 laptop.

The usb stick is a SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 64 GB built on the following machine;

OK the main problem with Windows 8/10/11 is windows fast boot [quick-start] and secure boot, both of which need to be disabled in UEFI/BIOS
we have several members using Lenovo tablets and laptops without issue. I don't know if @kc1di may have any ideas [he may be along later]

OK. I turned off secure boot and quick start as far as I can tell. Possibly I've missed a place in the bios, but I tried.

@Brickwizard , I'm here, I've never had a problem with Lenovo laptops either turning off secure boot or fast start. If the opt is not going to dual boot simply set it to legacy boot and all should work fine. Since I never dual boot with windows Haven't used any windows machines for at least 12 years I can't say about dual boot the laptops. But I have never has a problem with Thinkpads.
@hapibeli Does it boot after turning those off?
