Manjaro works fine too. I'll move back to raspbian when they release an official 64bit version. But 4GB is completely enough, I don't know why I wasted money for an 8GB one. Even after opening multiple tabs on chromium, running commands of terminal, it still uses 1.5gigs. I wish I had bought a pi400

You r right. Raspbian devs have released 64bit version. installed it yesterday on RP4. works smoothly than manjaro KDE Plasma.
I use the 4gb version with dual monitors, and I seem to be spending more and more time on it, rather than the other systems that I have on the desktop here. I have it connected to port 2 of a 4 port KVMA switch. I don't seem to be using the other 3 ports very much lately. Funny thing about that!
I understand that the 64 bit version of the Pi Operating system is out of Beta now. If you intend to use the 8gb Pi 4B, I would recommend loading the 64 bit system, so that you can use all 8GB of ram without having to do software gymnastics.

I've got the Pi400 and the rp4B. These are amazing boards and can easily do daily duty as a desktop. I'm running RasBullseye 64 bit -- on SSD and pen drive. The SSD speed is amazing and runs very smooth. I've done surfing, downloaded torrents (Linux distros), watched movies and done email with little lag compared to my desktop motherboard. The PI shines when it comes to power consumption. For internet surfing in a remote cabin or on a sailboat, the Pi represents perhaps the biggest bang for the buck -- maybe in the world.
On the downside, sometimes oddball issues are encountered like "controller has not released bits". When this quirkiness shows up, you'll spend some time on the learning curve. :-(
My one significant complaint is the lack of apps in ARM64. For that reason, I'll probably migrate to a hotrod X86 SBC that is Linux compatible but that has lower power requirements than a regular desktop. And perhaps 2x or 3x performance increase over the PI. Looks like a lot of SBC's are out there -- far more than I ever knew.

This is why I moved back to Manjaro so I can get access to AUR. Performance of RP4 is enough for me to do my daily tasks.

I have around a couple dozen apps that I either downloaded from git or installed using flatpak.
I also have a couple of Appimages, Simplenotes and Obsidian. Other than these everything is from the Debian repos and a couple third party repos that I have added.

yeah but I like to install directly from repos, instead of relying on flatpaks. As an example, there isn't telegram client in debian aarch64 repository, so I had to use either flatpak or snap.
Manjaro has everything.

I haven't used Raspberry Pi OS in a while but I have used it as my daily driver on my Raspberry Pi 4B (4GB) for a few months around the 2019. It's been a while so I'm wondering if Raspberry Pi OS is the best choice still. Back then I did have some issues with video streaming on a 1080P HD TV.
It is good, but I didn't have much luck with it (most people have positive experience with it though). I personally like Manjaro.
I use 64bit bullseye on rpi400, silent and cool, but recently after the newest kernel update It got hot. from 35°C when idle to 45-48°C . Nothing jumps in Htop, no recent apps installed. Has anybody a clue why? I love that setup, stopped using my laptop at home, for browsing and some productivity.

I get that controller has not released bits on my newest Pi 4 8GB model, it does not seem to cause any issues,
is there a way to fix this.
