Hello all,

I am trying to install ubuntu server version on older pc system IBM x3200 M3. After starting with installation i get FATAl error message. I checked the error log and it gives message Error opening /dev/sda: No medium found.
After fsdlk -l and lsblk command, it shows that on sda there is nothing , and hard drive is on sdc. (USB is on sdb)
is there any way to change hdd to be in sda instead or sdc? Or maybe to change the sata connectors?
Any advice on this?

The order of device names is arbitrary and can change. The designation is temporary pending system installation. Just select sdc for the installation target and it will probably change on the installed system.

And where can i select the sdc as target for installing? In the process of installation there wasnt anything like that, maybe some additional file?

you should have something like this where you can change what HDD you want to install on.
