I have an up-cht01 board with Ubilinux as the OS. I need to make various software changes (updates, functional changes, etc.) on it. However, my client had this done previously by another person who is no longer reachable. This person had the sudo password saved on the desktop, but it doesn't seem to work. The data must be preserved. What can I do?

Sounds like you need to change the password for root. Then you'll be able to manage the system.
See here for how to reset the password:
Thank you very much! I don't know why I didn't think of the Livestick idea... But one question. Does the Livestick need to have the same operating system or could I also use, for example, Tales (Live) OS?

No need for the same distribution, but a linux live disk is the way to go. The major distros all have one, debian, fedora, ubuntu etc. Haven't used Tails, so can't vouch for that. There are specialised rescue disks that are linux too, systemrescue being one of the most comprehensive.

Since this device doesn't have a CD drive, and I don't have an external one either, I'll try it with a USB stick. But thank you very much for the information!
