When you are sure this is solved, you can mark it as such by going to your first post, and do as follows

Near bottom left of the post click Edit - (No Prefix) - Solved

I'm missing something. I clicked Edit but it just opens my first post to let me edit the content. Do I just type the word Solved?
Perhaps I've had too many birthdays ?

When you edit your first post you will see this, then from drop down select SOLVED

Thanks, tp. I was clicking Edit and looking in the Edit box. The Solved label is at the top.
