Like so many Linux things, you can customize your Bash history settings. They're easily customized, with just a few variables for you to configure. This article details those, though it ended up pretty long. Meh... Long is good, I suppose. I didn't meander too far from the topic. Everything is fairly concise, but it took more words than normal to explain everything I felt needed to be explained.


So, if you want to mess around with your Bash history settings, you can do that. Why? Because, of course, you can. This is Linux. You can customize anything if you're willing to put the work in.
 


There's also a way to put timestamps next to each command listed via HISTORY
Can be handy sometimes
Otherwise you don't really exactly know which commands may be relevant, especially if they were run a long time ago.
