This is how you make curl ignore SSL certificate errors. 'Snot a complicated article, so it's also not terribly long. I do try to explain SSL and certificates and hope that I made it clear with the amount of text I allot to such things (which isn't much). I probably could have done SSL and Certificate sub-sections, but then eyes will glaze over it and folks will just start scrolling. So, I did not do that.
