Suggest Me A Lightweight Distro, Please

plug it in [depending on distribution you are using you may need to install inxi from the software manage] and run from the terminal..... inxi -Nn and copy/paste the results back
I use it with this distro without problem :

It needs this driver : https://github.com/kelebek333/rtl8188fu

inxi -Nn :

Network:
Device-1: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet
driver: r8169
IF: enp3s0 state: down mac: 30:85:a9:ad:93:00
Device-2: Realtek RTL8188FTV 802.11b/g/n 1T1R 2.4G WLAN Adapter type: USB
driver: rtl8188fu
IF: wlx1cbfcee08771 state: up mac: 1c:bf:ce:e0:87:71

I was actually planning to get an SSD.
erm think.. As I said before, a class 3 SSD will make it noticeably faster on boot [but will never be the maximum speed available due to class 2 connection speed of your machine]
These are the results and other details :
For an HDD of that age, I am surprised, so the problem lays elsewhere, next thing to check are the cable's and connection's
if you have a spare try swapping the connecting cables [if not try unplugging and plugging in again { this will clear any Dry
problem]]
RTL8188FTV
this should not be a problem in any distribution, it is quite an old chipset, the universal Linux drivers are here https://github.com/A91y/RTL8188FTV_...r/linux/RTL8188EUS_linux_v4.1.4_6773.20130222
[I dont know if this is where you got them last time]

Oh, thanks for this, so I just need to install it in any distro, and it should work, as I've said I'm a total noob in this, Iv'e searched through so many sites for this after I switched from windows, then in Mint forum I got that driver, thank you so much.

I've got switched the sata cable recently, because it was faulty before and when my power supply died few months ago I got a new one with the cable, there's this guy who sold me this machine and it's not even his, he sells and repair computer hardwares & stuff, so when my power supply died I called him, then he came to replace it with a new one and there we find out that the sata cable was faulty, although the current cable isn't a brand new one
