Solved Strange transparent click-through box

Edit: It wasn't a Linux issue. Realized it was occurring on BIOS flash, and tried Windows. Had same issue. Plugged partner's monitor into my GPU's DP, no issue. Means it was the monitor. https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/...box-appears-on-alienware-oled-monitors-screen

Hi all. I am on the verge of utter insanity. There's a weird click-through box that persists through shut downs and restarts.

It comes up as soon as the computer starts, even through the blank "loading Linux" screens.

Only thing I've changed today was I installed Slack and this box occurred after waking my PC up from sleep. I uninstalled Slack but I don't think it was done properly because it was still running as a process after I did. I used AUR with slack-desktop as the name of the thinger.

Ignore the cringe Garuda dragon thing. Lol.

Any ideas?

I used this command: sudo pacman -Rsn slack-desktop

Here's a screen recording of my processes and applications if it is helpful.

I have tried killing both xdg-desktop-portal-kde and gtk.

It does not show up in screenshots, and changing my primary monitor to my second monitor does not move it. It is also not the dimensions of any of my apps, including Slack.

Do you have Timeshift installed ?

I recommend it to 'undo' recent problems/stuff ups

Edit: it does not change orientation with other apps when I switch the monitor to portrait.

It starts on the BIOS flash screen.

Opened Windows, occurring in Windows. So not a Linux issue!

Thank goodness. I assumed it was Linux since that's the only thing that's changed in my setup recently.

Just a note - even though solved

Garuda uses BTRFS over EXT4.

Tmeshift - although it provides for a BTRFS version, it does not work very well. It is designed to be used with the BTRFS as provided by Ubuntu, not Arch and other.
