[SHORT ANSWER]: factory reset your distro, it will 99.9% fix the issue (I guess)(It worked for me).
[LONG ANSWER]:
I was migrating my computer from Windows to Debian. And after I did, I decided to customize the programs layout on the activities menu a little bit. I wanted to put all programs into a single folder so I can only see the programs I install afterwards on that menu. And when I put all them together into a single folder it kinda crashed.
I stop seeing those programs all of the sudden. I don't remember all of the details right know. That actually happened more than a month ago if I'm not mistaken:
1. I tried to reboot the system, since it was a glitch apparently, to fix the issue properly. But when it booted back up, it didn't work.
2. I tried to uninstall the desktop environment itself and reinstall it again but it didn't work. I still couldn't see any of the programs on the activities menu.
3. Finally I decided the option I hated the most, factory reset the entire system. And when I did, it worked.
=======================
I don't know why that happened. All I can remember is that just when I installed Debian on my computer, before I installed the latest software and security updates, before I installed any program of my desire, I decided to put all the default programs that comes with the OS and the DE itself into one of the default folders that came with it and WALA!, the glitch occurred.
Do you guys know why this might happened? Has this happened to any of you before? What would you've done in my position? (Because I really didn't wanted to hard reset everything from scratch to be honest).
