I have few years of experience with Ops. And thinking about joining devops engineer entry level job. I also know coding. My concern is:
  • how to get best resume for devops?
  • how to get possibly remote job for system admin/devops? from Nepal...
  • best nepali companies to work for as a devops engineer

My method to find a job (not in IT though) was always only one, read newspaper ads and call the firm directly by phone.
If they ask for resume I said thank you and hang down.

Only reason for this was there was always enough open jobs to try, and I had experience in my job not to worry about getting hired.
resume for me is another word for "no thanks but we don't need you".

remote job
I don't think it's possible with what you're looking for, you need to deal with software or what ever that the company has in their office and you also need to sign the contract physically.

That is what I feel as well. When I got my first job, the hiring manager did not even glanced at my resume. He looked at me. Asked me "Whether can I do it?". I nervously said "Yes" And was hired.

IT here (software support focus):
  • the modern "job application process" is such that filters are applied to a resume and keywords are scraped from it. if a percentage (depends on the company posting the requisition) match the minimum job requirements, you've got your foot in the door, potentially. the problem after that is that human interaction is required and that's subject to luck/chance/fate/karma/etc... does the recruiter need to pad their numbers this week? are they having a bad day? are they recovering from a hangover and just counting the hours to clock out?

  • assuming you get past the first hurdle, then you need to know how to interview well and be able to back up anything that's on your resume with functional experience. dont lie on your resume. it's easy to do and people do it but you need to be better than they are. summarize your past experience and try to fit everything on a single page, but dont create giant blocks of text -eventually someone other than yourself will have to read that resume. create it with that in mind.

  • be prepared for 3, possibly more successive interviews with various hiring managers, hr reps, etc before they'll even consider offering you the position. you're going to flub the first couple interviews you do. dont worry about it - if you're actually very skilled, people skills arent absolutely necessary and you can learn how to fake it if they are. as with many skills, that takes time.

  • I've done remote work and I've done in-office work, and also hybrid. it's all in applying for the right job - expect this to take some time. submitting many copies of your resume everywhere, on as many sites as you can, widens your net. you can tailor the resume to the job if you'd like but I personally have never had any luck with that method.

  • not familiar with the job situation in Nepal but I know it's close to China and they're having a bit of an economic issue now so I'd focus my efforts southward, or overseas. enhanced search (aka "AI") is going to be a key tool for you. learn how to prompt well if you dont already have that skill. will make it easier to get non-scam results.

good luck!

How to get overseas job? With the increasing anti-immigration sentiments, I do not think it is safe anymore to visit japan, singapore etc.

  • best nepali companies to work for as a devops engineer From a DevOps perspective, DEX feels like the missing layer between infrastructure metrics and real user impact. Instead of just monitoring systems, it focuses on how tools actually perform for agents, which is huge. Combined with business/process automation https://www.techdogs.com/blogs/blog...-platforms-improve-efficiency-in-call-centers teams can fix issues proactively, reduce downtime, and improve overall efficiency.

Great move—your Ops background is a strong foundation for DevOps. For your resume, focus on practical skills: CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), scripting (Python/Bash), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and any automation you’ve implemented. Highlight real projects and measurable impact, not just tools.

For remote jobs from Nepal, build a strong GitHub portfolio, contribute to open source, and use platforms like LinkedIn, Upwork, and remote job boards. Certifications can also help.

In Nepal, look into companies like CloudFactory, Leapfrog, Logpoint, and Fusemachines. They often value DevOps skills and provide good growth opportunities.
