I am not a lawyer - but I understand the law better than the average person in my country (which says more about them than it says about me). I think everyone should grasp the basics of their legal system.
As far as I can tell, I have to agree here. They're not actually violating the GPLv2 license, but they're fighting against the historic values of open source.
