I have a Raspberry pi 5 with 8gb of ram running raspberry pi os lite and connected to the internet with ethernet. I ran apt update took over 3mins, npm timed out and apt upgrade said a minute ago that it will take over a day! I didn't do any weird configurations. Please help.

Please provide result of speedtest-cli from that Raspberry Pi. And the same from your normal computer/laptop if you have one. Install speedtest package to be able to this.
Thanks Fae3iSUx. I ran a speedtest and, as of right now, it gave me:

Okay. Next thing, please replace Ethernet cable in the Pi with a new one. And try again.
Also, take old cable you just used in Pi, and connect to a laptop if you have one, or that desktop, if you can reach. Do speedtest-cli using that computer and old Pi cable. Post the results.
These steps will help determine if it's the cable which is faulty, or something is wrong with the Pi.
Pi CPU is 45-50 C? What is it doing? Please provide screenshot of htop command running.
Thanks for your help. I did what you told me to then I decided to just plug it directly into my router and it was fine. I think the problem was just my networking setup and how many different low quality devices I was running it through. I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner.
