Network problem

I think you really need to upgrade your software.
Debian uses old packages but you're even more behind than that.
Okay. The version I have is what was installed when this machine was last rebuilt, I believe that was Mint Xfce 22.1 and it's been upgrading packages as recommended ever since, including kernels. I don't typically use inxi and didn't install it explicitly, so I assume it was part of the initial installation. Software Manager does not show it as being installed but does offer a version 3.3.34-1-1 available as a system package.

Why is Mint restricting my 500 Mbps down to 3.35 Mbps. This OS is very aggravating. I don't like it at all! , I would go back to Windows 11 if I could. At least in Windows it installs faster and I can install software faster. It takes me hours to install any linux.

This is the funniest thing I've read for some time...please keep it up...we need a good laugh these days.

Why sad?

It was an app I never used. This machine is pretty much my only connection to the world now. If I come across something that might improve my day to day existance I'm eager to try it, especially now with Rescuzilla. Do I need to upgrade inxi before I need to upgrade inxi? Before this thread I can't recall ever having used it. I'm glad I know about it now though, but since I don't have a reason to upgrade it, I won't.

I know there are many philosophies out there for maintaining systems.

I also need a way of getting rid of that aggravating password entry every time I want to install something. It is very unbelievably aggravating. Just one of the many things that I don't like Linux! Mint messed up my hd and now I cannot install windows 10. At least in Windows 10 I know what to expect and what I can do. My back is hurting again. I will be back tomorrow and maybe there l will be less pain.
The password verification is used infrequently and then for the security of your system.

The password required for Installing software you could think of it as analogous to the annoying MS "Are you sure"? which you have likely become desensitized to.

Some here like me came from Win years ago and won't go back, your decision.
