At first, I chose CentOS 7, but the software in the repository was too limited. Later, I switched to using Debian. My two headless servers have been running stably for over two years, and I mostly use nginx, Wireguard, HLS, and APIs for private web for daily use

@neolan :-

Welcome to Linux.org.

That's one of the great things about Linux. I have a 'Puppy' Linux "test-bed" install that's been running now for well over 6 years; it was initially set-up just a few weeks before COVID kicked-in with a vengeance, and the first lock-downs were instituted. The poor thing's been abused from day one, with me trying out everything under the sun on it.....yet to this day, she just keeps chugging along quite contentedly.

(Admittedly, she's had mucho upgrading during that time - newer kernels, glibc, dbus, ssl, ca-certs, etc, etc...) Still:-

It's hard to see why anybody in their right minds would willingly return to "the dark side" after that kind of sterling stability / reliability. I know I certainly won't...

(shrug...)

Mike. :D
