Linux installers

If you stick with Debian (for the moment) you could find the script SMXI helpful. It is quite simple to install and use. If can, in turn, install a whole bunch of useful stuff - Adobe Flash Player included. http://smxi.org/

Of minor interest might be https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QPwMWJdJq2hjkpoGEuHS56aosCxyTiiH4CWkDNFi5Wo/preview
Thanks, The above article is Very helpful.
I'm not going to mess with smxi for now but I'll check it out later.

I had Kparts installed and think it may be what is messing up my plugins and extensions so I un-installed it completely. Now if I can figure out how to reset all of the file associations, that might fix it. I went to the System Settings window to where the file associations are set but it does not have a way to reset all of the file associations in one click. Bummer.

Adobe Flashplayer is installed according to Synaptic and Apper but doesn't work yet.
However, when I try to install it in Konsole, File not found... see previous post attachments.

Java is messed up too. It is installed but Java.com cannot verify I have it.

Something is going on here I can't quite figure out yet.

Tried to again, no find... snapshot6.png

Both F lash and Java are not working in Konqueror either.
