good day dear Linux-Community,

as the the good news ever continues... and the development never stops - in the realm of Open Source - i think its possible to open a thread where we can add the new in one line. This is more convinient - and adds some support to the community - they know all the things that happen in the LO (speak - LibreOffice-) World -

and they also can add their ideas, Complaints or happienes.

plz set me straight dear mods and admins - if you think that this is not (!) okay - and if you wish a more traditional and conveitional mode of posting news here...

lets start with the old news: the Release of the 25.8.1

A few hours ago (on August 29, 2025), The Document Foundation officially released LibreOffice 25.8.1. This small update contains nearly 100 bug fixes, primarily aimed at improving stability.

Dear community, :)

i just want to share this with you here :)
No feature set has been expanded in this release – the upgrade remains within the scope of bug fixes. If you are already using LibreOffice 25.8, an update for improved performance is definitely recommended.

I never knew there was any problems with LibreOffice.

Every version I've ever used has always worked 100%.

I'm probably using an older version.

They are the default version that installed at the time of the Linux install.

I'll just stay with them if they ain't broke leave them be.

I don't need latest or greatest I prefer stable and reliable.

Hello dear community - good morning, dear Linux friends :)

the good news ever continues...

New: LibreOffice 25.2.6 was released a few hours ago – the sixth maintenance release of the 25.2 series. This is the sixth maintenance release of the stable 25.2 line and comes with many bug fixes.

See also the current release notes on the developer's website:

LibreOffice 25.2.6 (2025-09-08) - Previous Release :: The more mature previous release of LibreOffice, recommended for corporate implementations and more cautious users. As such, the version is stable and is suitable for all users. LibreOffice 25.2.6 is the sixth bugfix release of this line. For a list of fixed bugs compared to the previous release, see the list of bugs fixed in RC1 and RC2.
