I agree that the site provides a very good tutorial, altho' I think if one is going to get serious about learning bash, a good ebook is pretty essential. There are some good alternatives at it-ebooks

Here is another good (very in-depth) guide regarding some of the "scarier" shell commands, specifically awk and sed.

Its a bit dated, but its what I used to go from a sed noob to pro aka
sed 's/ \([Nn]oob*\) / \([pP]ro \) /g'
