Originally it was based on Fedora but that was a long time ago, it still uses a severely cut down [old] Linux kernel its applications are not compatible with the main Linux distributions, so many of us do not consider it to be a modern Linux build

It uses a heavily modified kernel based on an older official kernel.

Not really Linux in my book either. Old Linux kernel was the base but I think they are now about to develop their own kernel also. So No not linux.

No, a lot of it is java based. It doesn't run most Linux binaries.
