Is Kali Linux Right For You?
As the distribution’s developers, you might expect us to recommend that everyone should be using Kali Linux. The fact of the matter is, however, that Kali is a Linux distribution specifically geared towards professional penetration testers and security specialists, and given its unique nature, it is NOT a recommended distribution if you’re unfamiliar with Linux or are looking for a general-purpose Linux desktop distribution for development, web design, gaming, etc.

Hey Griyan,

He's hinting that you're probably not ready for Kali unless you have the experience in Linux to be able to troubleshoot some things.. or know that you'd need to post more information than "installation failed" in a forum to get some assistance with it. You'd want to post some logs, etc.. or any other information that you can think of.. what type of hardware, installation medium, etc..

G'day @Griyan and welcome to linux.org :)

Take a look at this Post I wrote a little over 12 months ago.

https://www.linux.org/threads/linux-for-cybersecurity.19269/#post-57380

The Wikipedia article referred there lists a number of the tools Kali uses.

Nothing has changed since then, to any significant degree.

...you're probably not ready for Kali unless you have the experience in Linux to be able to troubleshoot some things..

... is 110% appropriate IMO.

Cheers
