Hi everyone,

I’ve formatted my laptop before two weeks, and during installation I put a password for encryption, It was asking me to enter my password every time I boot the system (not the user’s password) and It was working correctly, but surprisingly it doesn’t work! I can’t access my desktop or even lock screen! Although I’m more than sure that I enter a correct password!
It shows a message with “Cryptsystem failed, bad password or options?”
in addition to “Failed to connect to lvmetad”
Please help me in nearet time, I have a lot of important data and projects on my system, I can’t reformat it and lose them. I need your help really!

Regards

G'day @ala' Abu-shomer and welcome to linux.org. I have deleted your original which was a duplicate but this one mentions Ubuntu.

Which version of Ubuntu? and which Desktop Environment (GNOME, MATE &c)?

Is that error

cryptsetup: cryptsetup failed, bad password or options

??

  1. What keyboard layout are you on, eg US, or other?
  2. Have you checked by tapping the Caps Lock key that caps lock is not on?
Cheers
