Threat actors linked to the IceFire ransomware operation are now actively targeting Linux systems worldwide with a new dedicated encryptor.

Perhaps it is worth noting that this will not affect the home user.
It only works against commercial Linux servers using IBM Aspera Faspex software.
Serious concern, though for those targeted.

Yes, thank you.
Just wanted to share because we're hearing of these things more and more. Even though Linux is more secure than other OSes out of the box, we still need to be vigilant and use common sense.
It's like I say in my signature
But even wearing a kevlar vest you can still be shot in the head or a leg or arm.
The best defence will always depend on how you use the material between your left ear and your right ear.
