I need help with my ipod nano

Hello,
I need to figure out how to add music to my ipod nano with my hp Chromebook and I have been very unsuccessful. I tried to just download music onto it and that did not work so I went to google and fond a reddit post saying to run linux and use Rhythmbox but I don't know how to. I got my first i-phone last year and wanted to put my own ringtone on from my android phone, I tried rythmbox but has no luck, so i installed win 8 on a spare drive for the 30 day free trial, and used that to install my ringtone

What has this to do with Linux ?

Maybe get an Android device.
