I had a solid bunch of people here. We had enough fireworks to do a 25 minute show as it turned dark and another 15 minutes when it hit midnight. I do have neighbors close enough to hear them, but they are few in number and either don't mind or were already here.
A bunch of people spent the night. A few slept in the house and more people slept in tents, if they slept at all. It was a bit of work to feed everyone, though that's fairly normalized around here. We had a hearty breakfast.
We have to have a burn permit for any fire over 3' (~1 meter) tall or wide, but I live in an unincorporated township and have a 'designated permit space' as I have no local fire department. That means I don't need a permit. All it took to get the perpetual permit was to have a fire warden come out to the site to check it out. My designated site is far away from the trees or flammable buildings. We have some pretty solid fires.
I hope everyone else had a great time, even if they weren't celebrating a holiday. While we have a bit of a party, it's not very political or anything. I appreciate that.
