Solved First time, USB boot not working

Hi all, I'm new here

I am on an Ideapad Lenovo laptop, with Windows 11. I got through every step of the process to install Linux Mint (cinnamon), but after the BIOS screen, it just says "EFI PXE 0 for IPv4 [some numbers which I am not sure what they are so i dont even know if it's safe to share them?????] boot failed", twice, before booting Windows. I am totally new to all this, IDK what could be the issue

Edit: I feel like this is relevant: I restarted my PC after taking off the USB drive and got the same error messages

Congrats on your installation.

If I understand correctly, your laptop can't boot because it can't find the internal hard drive.

Go into your BIOS Settings in the boot section and make sure that your hard drive is the first in the list. Save the changes and reboot.

I looked up the keys for entering the BIOS for a Lenovo Idea laptop. Google said to immediately and repeatedly tap the F2 key or the Fn + F2 as the laptop is booting up.

As far as I am aware, "EFI PXE 0 for IPv4, is a Windows error common to w10 but has occurred on W11 it means the machine cannot find a bootable drive, and is looking for a boot from server, so why has it happened with Linux, usually it means you haven't disabled windows quick start and then done a full power re-boot [not re-start from windows or it will re-enable quick start]

I checked, and fast startup was disabled. I turned that off like last week i think, I dont't remember if I did a full power re-boot after that or just a restart, but it was turned off when I just checked

then i suspect the USB you are trying to boot from may have a fault,

Why Linux fails to load/install direct to HDD, common reasons

1] Corrupt download [check SHA sum]
2] bad burn to installation medium [try again] [if you used Rufus then try Balena Etcher or Ventoy]
3] Wind 8.2 and higher quick start/fast boot or secure boot not disabled [after disabling do a full power re-boot not a restart]
4] defective pen-drive/DVD
5] hardware fault,
5A] If old style HDD run integrity check
5B]if SATA SSD check for hidden partition at the beginning of drive [this will stop Grub from loading] and delete it before re-installing Linux
If New M2.NVMe check, your system is NVMe compatible [not all older kit is]

I did use an old 4gb drive for this, that's probably it.... I used what I had on hand. I'll try again with a new drive next week

Before posting here, I did re-format the drive and re-burn it (used Etcher both times), the same thing happened before and after

It should not be an option at all, remove it or move lower on the boot order list.

Or you can run boot menu and select USB.
Key press to launch boot menu depends on your motherboard manufacturer, what it does it skips boot order in BIOS and lets you choose boot type manually.

BLESS OMG THAT WORKED thank you, I ran the boot menu and selected the third on the list. First was EFI PXE, second was windows, third one I did not recognize but apparently worked! Currently writing this from my very first linux live session
