you think wrong. I get them in shop all the time dying and unable to retrieve anything because they are soldered on. Failure on emmc is higher than ssd or nvmeeMMC failure is rare i think.

This particular unit has a dead main battery, so the convenience factor for portability is diminished - it has to be plugged in to external power at all times. As a result, I use it almost exclusively for score keeping on family card night. It does run a LibreOffice spreadsheet really nicely. :/But to spend money on something that is disposable that way I just can't bring myself to do it. Linux will work fine on it just don't expect much out of it.

None of my machines are exactly "screamers" but this one can be a bit slower than the others at times. I still run the same desktop on it as I do on my daily driver.
