Decompiling Sonic 1,Sonic 2,Sonic & Knuckles,Gunstar Heroes

Since when for instance Jazz Jackrabbit copyrights infringement law got established expiration date estimation since 2002 or since 2010? So I guess that possibly for instance in the future in the 2094 or in aproximately 2082 licence gonna expire, right? Especially speaking of how it looks like nowadays...etc.

A license expires after certain time has passed after death of copyright holder and so no one claims copyright anymore.
However if a license is transferred to a new owner or a firm they can extend the license.

Sorry but I don't know these people or what's the case with them.

What I said is about copyright law, copyright expires after a set amount of years since the death of a copyright holder.
I'm not sure but I think it's some 80 years.

Okay let me explain you by for instance watching this YouTube video.

There is misunderstanding in this thread regarding decompiling and disassembly.

Disassembling an executable or shared object results in assembly.
Decompiling however does not, it results in C code.
Over 25 years coding, I still use the term "decompile" generically, lol.

I’ve done this 8 years ago.
For instance nowadays it’s Sonic the Hedgehog a’la Jazz Jackrabbit and I bet that it’s so-called reverse engineering…etc.
Lol, you could've mentioned you weren't trying to modify MegaDrive/Genesis ROMs...

Meh, I'm the first one to the soap box when it comes to rights to modify / emulate / etc. as you'll note by my sig, haha.

Well in that case it’s not. It would be another case anyway.
