So I've been thinking would it be possible to fix so-called for instance both Unreal Editor 1(final build)for Jazz Jackrabbit 3D and Sonic Generations/Steam Launcher by using Linux Mint instead of Microsoft Windows 11?

Or still not,yet?

I was getting that Steam error when I was using a mobile phone as my internet provider.

Even disabling the automatic recognition of mobile connections didn't help. I eventually concluded the provider simply blocked Steam's updates from downloading - presumably because online gaming is a bandwidth hog.

How did you do that?

It works fine on the satellite connection. It does not work on the mobile hotspot.

I did not try USB tethering.

It looks like you installed Steam through wine, you need to install the Linux version of Steam, then you can run Sonic Generations through Proton.

Once the Linux version of Steam is installed and you are logged in. Go o the menu: Steam -> Settings -> Compatibility and enable "Enable Steam Play for all other titles".

No idea what "Jazz Jackrabbit 3D" is since it's not a game in the Steam store. Unreal Editor doesn't seem to be available in the Steam store either and most likely a Windows only application.

Looks like Unreal Editor has an Ubuntu version and you can download it with an account.

I actually downloaded and installed Steam for instance on Microsoft Windows 11 PC OS.

Don't bother than, this is Linux forum.

I heard that in this very forum somebody told me that there are 3 users using Windows.

That does not make this a Windows forum.

Oops sorry my bad.

It's all good. I was mostly remarking on how you'd likely not find anyone here who can help you.

This is the 'general computing' sub-forum, so you can ask Windows questions if you feel the need to. You're just likely to not get any help. There are many Windows forums out there where you'll find people well versed in the OS.

I'll see of what I can do.
