    Netgear A6200 Wireless USB Stick

Thanks Stan. Sorry you're burning the midnight oil. I've had to change shifts a couple times in my career and it was always a pain. I've tried deleting and downloading the .zip file again but I keep getting the same results. I've tried extracting other .zip files with no problem so either this...

    Netgear A6200 Wireless USB Stick

It appears as though Linux sees my A6200 Wireless stick. The following is a screenshot from my "working good" Linux install on HDD1. Maybe I just need to figure out how to enable it?

    Netgear A6200 Wireless USB Stick

I will probably have to give this a try, because one of the two solutions in the links you posted didn't work for me (couldn't unzip a file) and the other didn't make any difference. Here's the output you asked for: It would appear from this readout that my A6200 Stick is visible to Linux...

Several "How Do I Do That?" Newbie qestions

Thanks for the info Wiz. I have a question or two about Timeshift that I didn't see addressed in the tutorial. I have Mint 18.3 MATE, and Timeshift both installed on two separate HDD's. I created a snapshot while booted to (let's call it HDD1), which is my (working pretty good) Linux setup...

That appears to have worked. Thanks Wiz. Off to work now...

Several "How Do I Do That?" Newbie qestions

Hey Chris, that would be a good thing. Thanks for all your help so far. This would make it extremely easy to do a recovery. I was wondering if I had to first recover with the big snapshot, but if is linked to the original, then that takes care of it. Easy works for me. I'm sure you've seen...

Newbie: Mint Crashed While Installing alongside Win XP on D:\. Now Can't Access D in Windows

Hey Stan, too late. I already posted in Networking. You have to be fast on the trigger with me. I do everything really fast. Just ask my X wife. LoL Wow, that's a great schedule. My company merged vacation, sick and holidays into PTO. (personal time off) and we could take that pretty much...

    Netgear A6200 Wireless USB Stick

Hey all, I'm very new to Linux, and have just set up Linux Mint 18.3 MATE 64 bit, and I would like to know if I can get my Netgear A6200 Wireless USB stick to work. Both my router and the USB stick have WPS authentication capabilities, but Linux doesn't recognize the stick when I plug it in...

Several "How Do I Do That?" Newbie qestions

Hey all, I'm very new to Linux, and with @wizardfromoz, @atanere and @Condobloke's help, so far I have managed to get Linux Mint 18.3 MATE running from a hard drive that Windows rendered useless after an update. So I'm trying to get Linux working "for me" so I can dump Windows completely. 1. I...

Newbie: Mint Crashed While Installing alongside Win XP on D:\. Now Can't Access D in Windows

Yes, so far, but I fully expect to break things. That's how you learn to fix them. :D Well darn. I hate drama. But thanks for looking that up. And no wonder I'm having a hard time installing to the Seagate. Reminds me of my last job where we had a vital piece of equipment that was actually two...

Newbie: Mint Crashed While Installing alongside Win XP on D:\. Now Can't Access D in Windows

Stan, I worked a compressed schedule in the Semi-conductor industry. 4 twelve hour days on, then 4 days off. Then 3 twelve hour days on and 3 days off. Then that repeated. I actually liked that schedule. Thanks for the info. And I "can" access the data on the Samsung from the Windows.old file...

Newbie: Mint Crashed While Installing alongside Win XP on D:\. Now Can't Access D in Windows

Stan, I have just discovered that I can access all my stuff on the Samsung, from Linux File Viewer. That's really good news because it's all still there. Whew! And one less problem we have to worry about. Good job, Linux developers.

Newbie: Mint Crashed While Installing alongside Win XP on D:\. Now Can't Access D in Windows

Thanks Stan. It's been a pleasure working with everyone here. If you want me to troubleshoot the Seagate problem with you, I'm willing to do that. I I'm probably in like 5th grade now. So there's plenty for me to learn too. I also would like to try and see if I can get any data back...

Newbie: Mint Crashed While Installing alongside Win XP on D:\. Now Can't Access D in Windows

Thanks Stan. I fully concur with you that the mount point should be ( / ), but it has mounted to the UUID of the Seagate. I suspect as you do that this is because the Seagate is a USB Drive, or perhaps because I'm trying to install from a USB drive to a USB drive. Either way it's a no go. Yes...

Newbie: Mint Crashed While Installing alongside Win XP on D:\. Now Can't Access D in Windows

I simply couldn't get Linux to install to the Seagate USB HDD from the pen drive, using the "Something else" parameter. It couldn't find a file system and wanted me to correct that using a partition tool. I don't have a clue how to address that. The Seagate is set up exactly the same as the WD...

Newbie: Mint Crashed While Installing alongside Win XP on D:\. Now Can't Access D in Windows

Wiz, thanks for your instructions. Not confused. If I understand correctly, different Distros running on different HDD's from different Primary Partitions can use the same Swap File, but it's best if they each have their own. Only one question that hopefully requires only a simple answer...

Newbie: Mint Crashed While Installing alongside Win XP on D:\. Now Can't Access D in Windows

Chris, we are more than good, and especially after such a gracious reply. No harm, no foul, and thank you. You're a good man, and easily my friend, and everything you said is well noted. Data as requested by the Wizard (while running from the WD HDD with the Linux MATE install, with USB Seagate...

Newbie: Mint Crashed While Installing alongside Win XP on D:\. Now Can't Access D in Windows

    * Edited to clarify, after a little more learnin' Here's the latest. I went back through the steps that Wiz laid out for me for setting up the WD, and ended up with the Seagate looking very similar to the WD in Gparted, except for the sizes of the partitions. (Seagate screen shot below, taken...
