To preface;
I am borderline illiterate when it comes to computers, but I have really enjoyed the soft approach to newfolk in the linux community.
SO, the nitty-gritty;
About two years ago I successfully got my first linux install up and running on my mini pc, a Gigabyte Brick. The install info I can understand so far is;
Linux Mint 22 Wilma
I've since forgotten my password to get in, and have tried the basic workaround of resetting the password via the recovery root method. The password change is successful, but logging in simply brings me back to the login screen.
I've tried the method of making my password Null, so it is just not needed, but again, it comes back to login. Using the Alt+f2 login prompt gives me the error stating that the singature was not found in user keyring.
I've tried searching around online for the last day or so with no real luck, or at least, no information that I personally can understand.
I did see this thread here about resetting one's password with a liveUSB, but I dunno if that'd help me here. And if it might, could someone either provide a simple explanation of how to create a LiveUSB? or point me to a place that does~?
I'm fully willing to accept that my files just might be lost and do a wipe and fresh install, because I do genuinely enjoy learning the environment. I'm just a bit thick-headed.
Thank you! Sorry if there's a simple solution but that'd be really rad. Please be gentle with me.
