This marks the beginning of the release branch process, where bug fixes have top priority. This means that new features are largely complete. Instead, we are looking forward to a stable and robust 1.1 release. Currently under discussion are highlights such as the new transform manipulator and improvements to UI material rendering, as well as OpenGL textures (see the links below).

question: I'm curious: What changes would you see at the top of your wish list? or do you have specific bug fix requests?
Best regards

will have to bear with the fact. the appimage is at least 1gib.

i have a version. from late in 2022. that runs on debian "bullseye". i'm still trying to get around it.

Didn't know there is free version of CAD, and honestly never understood what CAD is used for.
How is CAD different or better from blender?

engineering drawings/architecture plans is my understanding though I believe some of that can also be done in blender.

dear Community, dear Friends hello dear @theLegionWithin and @CaffeineAddict and @wendy-lebaron - thank you so much for the comments, for sharing your ideas and thoughts.

... now things go very fast. :) Alexander published on the developer-blog: (see lnk below:

The main development branch has been in a hard freeze since Monday – no new features will be added, only bug fixes. There is no set release date yet; the version will be released as soon as all release blockers have been removed.

For comparison: For version 1.0, the feature freeze began in June 2024 with approximately 40 blockers, and the final version was released in November of the same year. The duration may be different for 1.1.

The next milestone is September 30th: this is the last day that changes affecting the user interface or translatable UI text can be merged. After that, these changes are also considered locked.
