I have never had a bad torrent download...never.
I am not saying it cannot happen, but it would be terribly unusual.

Thumb drives, on the other hand, can behave like unknown quantities. Not the easiest things to test afaik.

I used a different usb drive. After you advised using a different one, I remembered previously having issues with that particular thumb drive

I had 4 out of 5 bad ISOs trying to install Mint Cinnamon 22.1 in Virtualbox the other week and I never used a Flash Drive either.

I think the problem is...Mint has many download mirrors..so anything can happen and it isn't just Mint. That's why I install the Distros ISO in Virtualbox to see how it runs and if there are problems because the Live Session won't.
