Solved How important it is to log out from a website vs clearing history?

Solved issue
I recently started using a Firefox add-on to automatically delete the cookies of all the websites I access, with exception of a few I have whitelisted. Maybe you will find it useful too?
I've installed this add-on on all of my Linux distros where Firefox is the browser it's great.

Thanks for sharing.

FWIW there's a version of this add-on for Chromium also which I've installed so it's a win win imo.
I thought the browser itself has settings to clear cookies and browsing data on closing. Or is it something different?

If cookies are stolen, deleting them and hoping that's enough is the worst thing to do.

You need to recall sessions on all affected websites in that case, one way to do it is to log out, however if you log in twice to a website without log out then you'll need to visit that site and delete old sessions.

Although not all websites support managing sessions.
