After reading here that the Pear OS resmbles a Mac system, and having never used anything "Mac", I thought I'd create a VirtualBox virtual Pear machine and check it out.
Well, I've been trying to get it up and running for about 4 days now. On and off. Deleted and recreated the machine more times than I can recall. I can create the machine easily. When it comes to the guest editions though, no joy. I can get the guest editions installed, but with errors. The display improvement feature works, clock synchro works. However, copy/paste only works from host to guest, guest to host is a no go. Also, shared folder is a non starter. I can create one, and once I created a mount point for it in /Home on the guest, I have permissions to access it. But it's empty, no shared files from the Host.
According to what I've read, Pear is built on Manjaro with the 6.17.1 kernal., so I installed the Linux617-headers. According to the setup log, this is incorrect. It states the complier used to build the kernal was gcc(GCC)15.2.1 20250813 and I am using gcc(GCC)15.2.1 20260209. I am guessing that this is what's creating the issue. But it's only a guess as I have no idea what I'm doing here.
Any help solving this would be appreciated.
The tutorial I was reading was for installing Manjero, which, I believe uses a different package manager, so it's been ...... interesting trying to use different command to get anything done. Naturally I can't find any guidance on creating a Pear Virtual machine.
