Patch Tuesday, April 2026 Edition​

Microsoft today pushed software updates to fix a staggering 167 security vulnerabilities in its Windows operating systems and related software, including a SharePoint Server zero-day and a publicly disclosed weakness in Windows Defender dubbed “BlueHammer.”

Separately, Google Chrome fixed its fourth zero-day of 2026, and an emergency update for Adobe Reader nixes an actively exploited flaw that can lead to remote code execution.

All you people using Chrome browser....time to start looking over your shoulder..... and finding another more secure browser.

a bunch of people using windows. will rather die and allow destruction to come to them. just like certain other people on linux. who make such a big deal about "free" and "libre" and "open."

i belong to another forum. (revealed this in the first month i was here.) which has a discussion about adjusting a setting in windows. that will allow them to continue using a somewhat sloppy programming language product without shame. otherwise "that exe file you have just created is a security risk! i cannot let you run it now! you must have it authenticated!" a real pita for someone who programs as a hobby.

meanwhile i bet this junk isn't done. for whoever creates a program in c++ or python or rust. allowed blithely to pass.

but i'm going to stop babbling now because it's not about linux. (grin)
