I had installed Debian 3 times (debian.13.1.0-live) with no troubles. Then I suddenly started having problems with either a screwed up grub or not able to even get the installer to start. Finally I tried the debian-13.1.0-amd64-netinst.iso. Its the first time I've ever used a netinstall package. Geez! Eliminated my 1/2hr - 1hr (or failed) transfer to my thumb drive. Took about a minute or two to transfer. And the installation went flawlessly.
Are netinstallers supposed to be a better idea?

Probably, I always use netinstaller because you can install minimal system.
Difference with installer in live ISO is that live ISO uses Calamares installer and it installs everything that's available in the ISO.

if install procedure fails for you it could be you miss some essential step such as not adding nvram variables.

I also have had problems in the past with Debian Live installer and have used net install image since then and it has always worked for me. If I want to do a off line install I would use the full install image and not the live .iso. In any event Debian 13 is a good distro and works well.
