Updating drivers for motherboard

Welcome to Linux.org forum.
You should not need those drivers in Linux. As they are all included in the kernel. If you are having problems with the motherboard. You may need to have a newer or older kernel If all is working as expected then don't worry about it.

You may do better with a proprietary Driver from Nvidia. But I'm not that familar with EndevorOS so you'll need to check it out with them. I don't think the shutdowns are because of the Motherboard though. It's most likely the Nvidia card causing the problem.

James80, there are apparently a couple of issues:
1. nouveau producing a page fault. Best to upgrade the kernel to the latest version possible. Looks like an issue with the nouveau driver on your graphics card.

2. amd_iommu_report_page_fault. With this one there are a few options. First I'd note that if your machine is suffering "random shutdown" as you mention in post #3, it's more likely memory related than graphics card related. Usually the graphics card will freeze the GUI rather than shut down the computer.

I would check the memory with memtest86+.

And there are a bunch of kernel options you could look into trying on your AMD board:

iommu=soft ---- general iommu parameter

Here below are some options specifically for the AMD iommu driver entered after this option:

amd_iommu=

Possible values are:

off ---- do not initialize any AMD IOMMU found in the system

force_isolation ---- Force device isolation for all devices. The IOMMU driver is not allowed anymore to lift isolation requirements as needed. This option does not override iommu=pt

force_enable ---- Force enable the IOMMU on platforms known to be buggy with IOMMU enabled. Use this option with care.

All of these options are reversible, by removing them. It's a laborious business going through to see what will prevent shutdowns, if that is possible, but if something works, it's paid off.
 
I have never found the need to update the onboard drivers since I started using Linux, many moons ago, they are only used during initial boot, once the Linux distribution has started , it uses its own compatible drivers [ok you may have to download some non FOSS drivers, but they will still be Linux not Microsoft]

It can't hurt to upgrade the motherboard's firmware/bios/uefi, I usually update it if I get a new motherboard and after that maybe once every 1-2 years.
