The Issue
Attempting to install (any) distro to my laptop from a flash drive with an iso. I can get to GRUB no problem, but after telling it to boot (whether it's with open source or proprietary drivers) I freeze on a black screen. While I'm trying to get Garuda installed, I've tried a few different distros - Mint, Ubuntu, Arch - all with the same issue. I'm also a new user - I've played around a bit in virtual machines but I'm still very green to linux as a whole.

The Attempted Solutions
I've tried changing the boot parameters - "i915.modeset=0", "nomodeset", "grub_gfxmode=vesa=vga" - with no success. It may be possible I formatted things incorrectly though.
As far as I can tell - the GPU isn't playing nicely. I've done some googling for and have a few more things I can test, but I'm hoping some kind person can point me in the right direction or offer thoughts.
