While I don't really want to run AV software on my computer, it is true that there are Linux compromises out there. In fact, I just submitted a news article about one such exploit earlier today. I'm still not going to install any anti-malware applications.

But, this might be a good pacifier. Lots of people from the Windows camp want to use AV software on Linux.

I'm not sure that I'd want to use Kaspersky. They used to be great, but they were banned for a reason.

I thought that a regular person could still buy Kaspersky products while in the US. I thought that it was only the government that couldn't buy Kaspersky products. However, I was wrong.

A Final Determination hearing resulted in Kaspersky being banned from providing any antivirus or cybersecurity solutions to anyone in the United States.

If YOU want to buy this, or if buying this will help someone convert to Linux, this is the URL:

Though I'm not sure how a US citizen could be prohibited from buying this product. Everything I see is rather vague. I suspect I'd be best off by asking a lawyer. I'm not doing that today.
