Google has been phasing out popular ad blocking extensions on its Chrome browser for several years, and it appears that the kill switch might finally be flipped with an update coming this summer. As 9to5Google reports, Chrome 150 and 151 are expected to finalize the transition to Google's Manifest V3 extensions platform, effectively ending support and workarounds for continued use of MV2 extensions like uBlock Origin.

Ublock origin works just fine on my other browsers...how did I fix the google chrome ublock origin problem...I removed google chrome...problem solved.

You can switch to Ublock Origin Lite The official replacement, uBlock Origin Lite, runs in Chrome within Google Manifest V3's rules. It is not as effective as the old version

uBlock Origin Lite is available for Chrome. This is a separate extension built specifically for Manifest V3, but it has significant limitations:

  • Cannot use all filter lists simultaneously (rule limits apply)
  • No cosmetic filtering in the default mode
  • No scriptlet injection by default
  • Limited dynamic filtering capabilities
  • Requires broader host permissions upfront
