You could always use a live boot system and store files and such to a cloud server. 2GB should give you enough to run almost any live distro you want. Just boot to a usb or if you're using a SBC an SD card. That actually affords you the opportunity to use different ones all the time without having to do an install everytime. There are also live boot distro's that you can run on top of one installed on bare metal and it gives you access to your internal storage, like tails. You'll end trying a few before settling but that's the joy of Linux.
