I was wondering if someone may be able to help me fix the strange fonts I'm getting when using Octopi installing packages. I'm using garuda linux but don't have the same issue in manjaro or arch. This is the kind of output I'm seeing with a string of squares shown after the asterisks:

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas please?

It looks like the octopi application cannot read or interpret the fonts, so it produces those blocks representing the characters it cannot reproduce. You could check that you have all the items installed for the application to work. There is a section on the github page entitled: "What you must install in order to have Octopi fully functional", so it's worth checking that you have it all in place. See: https://github.com/aarnt/octopi.
