I made the really stupid mistake of buying a refurbished Chromebook (HP 14-SMB) with intent to install Debian. Getting to BIOS? Yeah, right. Any searching for help on crosh always gets me about 200 hits hyping up the divine, human-beneficial characteristics of crosh, or lists of commands that mostly get me "unknown command." A few general Linux commands are accepted, but not near enough. #1: I need to get to the BIOS. #2: latest rendition of Debian. The temptation to take this HP paperweight outside and let Mr. Ruger have his way is gaining a stronger influence on my restraint every day.

Try with this https://github.com/somenxavier/falco/wiki/Events-log The author explained every single detail of how he managed to install Arch Linux on a chromebook but the process should help you install Debian.
I found that post here https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HP_Chromebook_14 and you might want to read this one as well

Hope this helps! :)
