Thanks for the welcome (really busy at work). I wiped my computer and now I think I will install ubuntu unsure which I want a stable version

I always recommend Oz Unity:

and Ultimate Edition:
http://www.linux.org/resources/ultimate-edition.39/

Ubuntu 12.04 is the current Long Term Support while 13.04 is the latest current.

the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS or Ultimate Edition
..after you become more familiar with Linux..
test a few... Mint is an excellent OS..Mate is a nice
desktop environment.
Dont rush into it..
i tested alot before i installed permanently

Linux Lite by the linux distro community is pretty good.

It is by a guy called Valtan from the Linux Distro Community who have a great very helpful website. On youtube a guy called Spatry has some very good tutorials there at - Spatry's Cup of Linux
